The
campsite provides bear boxes in each site. All food, toiletries etc, MUST be
inside the secured bear box when not in use.
Trash must be cleaned up and taken
to the dumpster right away.
We have camped at DL Bliss State Park (just down
the road) twice, and we didn’t have any problems with bears because we followed
these procedures but I saw a bear both times.

Wow - I just read the "camping With Bears" PDF and it sounds to me that we will most likely see bears. I was trying to find out if I needed to use the bear box for our food since we have a trailer with a Fridge in it. It sounds to me like the answer is yes - I hope the bear box is big enough for all of our food -for our whole group!
ReplyDeleteYes Sally, you'll need to use the Bear Box.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to go check out the size and number of the bear boxes in the group sites. If I can make it up there, I'll let everyone know what we can plan on.
This is from the Sugar Pine Point SP website about the bear boxes. It tells the dimensions so you can measure your cooler and make sure it fits.
