Between the skits, or possibly in place of some of them, or maybe on another night all together, we will be doing some fun competitions. These will include things like:
Best Evil Laugh
Best Knock Knock Joke
Make a funny face
Best chipmunk singing voice
They don't have to be these exact ideas, so send in your suggestions on facebook event page (link to the left) and we'll make a list.
Will we have an auction this year? If we do it right we can make good money for the next one . we need an auctioneer! One of you would be great!!
ReplyDeleteI agree - I think an Auctioneer would be good and maybe a "store" to buy other items. Although after reading up on the Bears I'm nervous to have snacks of any kind for all the kids. We are going to need to be Very strict about snacks and wrappers. Maybe we should have designated Snack times. Anyway, I think a small Store might be good. Maybe the two who are scheduled to do Dinner together are in charge of the little "store" earlier in that day and can figure out what to have in the store. Maybe things like Yo-yo's, markers, jewelry etc.. ??

DeleteI think selling tickets to put into bags didn't work last time and I also was in charge of another family reunion auction for Ryan's side last year - the tickets thing didn't work to well either. We also did a Silent Auction at the school last fall and the bids never went very high, so I think just having a set price for items is best. (higher than what you paid unless you don't care and just donate the item) This would be a Daily "store" that we have open during a certain time of day - maybe after breakfast.??

Good ideas Sally! I think the store idea will be good, and we'll plan a day and time for the actual auction so that everyone can plan to be there and participate.
